Nichols & Shepard traction engine
Description
Originally built in America, this model was imported to Europe by collectors and is therefore no longer in use.
It was found in the Parma area in 1993 and, to be more precise, at the home of an amateur from Ostellato.
The machine was in relatively good condition. The clutch, crankshaft, some of the gears and rear coal boxes, as well as the wooden canopy, needed to be restored and/or replaced.
After about a year, this locomotive was also on display for the first time at several events.
Specifically, restoration involved the furnace, clutch, crankshaft, two gears, bushings, rear part and coal boxes, and the canopy.
