Description

This portable engine was the first to be restored by Franco Risi in 1980. The first piece of the collection was purchased near Crevalcore (Bologna, Italy) and was in very poor condition.

Due to the state of neglect this machine was in, repairing it was quite a complex task, but this did not stop repairs from being carried out meticulously and with perfectly accurate construction details.

Over the course of many years since its restoration, this machine has featured at many events and exhibitions where visitors had the chance to see it in action threshing wheat, ‘decorticating and kneading’ hemp and so on, just as it did in the past.

Repairs and restoration involved the boiler, mechanics, piston rings, cylinder bore, slide valve and bushings.

There is evidence that this machine was used in the Mantua and Bologna area for long periods of time.
